Zhenjiang New Universe Solid Waste Disposal Co. Ltd. is established and
starts its operation since 2003. The Company provides regulated medical and
industrial waste management services to hospitals and chemical industries, which
is one of the fundamental environmental facilities in the Zhenjiang City. The plant
is equipped with state-of-the art incineration technology and equipment to transform
the industrial and medical hazardous waste into environmentally friendly substance for final
disposition. Throughout the years, the company continually enhances its facilities for
sustainable optimization on environmental protection. In May 2008, Zhenjiang New Universe
Solid Waste Disposal Company Limited was certified to have reached two nationally
recommended standards: (i) Quality Management Standard GB/T19001-2000 (identical to ISO9001:2000)
and (ii) Environmental Management Standard GB/T24001:2004 (identical to ISO14001:2004).
The environmental facilities of Zhenjiang New Universe Solid Waste Disposal Co. Ltd. are mainly
built on an industrial land at an area of 35,722.90 square meters (or about 384,525 square feet)
with the land use rights granted for 50 years.
Besides running the environmental disposal operations, the company provides dangerous chemical tank
truck cleansing services since early 2006, which is the first and only one company in the city
qualified to provide such kind of service in compliance with the regulations. The safety cleansing
service resolves the pollution problem of remnant chemicals caused by the tank truck cleansing for
the Zhenjiang chemical industries. The cleansing plant is equipped with specialized facilities in a
designated area, and operated under strict procedures to ensure the remnant chemical waste after cleaning
is handled with care for controlled disposition to minimize pollution risks.
Since the end of 2006, the company operates an industrial solid waste landfill with a total disposition
capacity of 750,000 tons and at an annual disposition capacity of 30,000 tons. The landfill is to handle
disposition of general industrial waste and environmentally friendly substance.
To conform with the environmental development requirement of Zhenjiang City and with
the support of the Environmental Protection Department, the company has formed an emergency
unit to handle pollution accidents in Zhenjiang with the mission to minimize the pollution risk
within the city. The emergency unit stands by to service summon calls from the local authorities,
and has involved in cleaning up various pollution troubles caused by traffic accidents and illegal
direct waste discharge.
The development of Zhenjiang City and her industries are highly correlated with the sound protection
of the city environment. Zhenjiang New Universe Solid Waste Disposal Co. Ltd. will co-ordinate and
cooperate with the enterprises in Zhenjiang for the betterment of the city environment.
